The Thrive Teesside team took to the Arc in Stockton-On-Tees on the 6th of December to launch their new books, Thriving Teesside and Thriving Women.

Thrive, as well as their trusty volunteers and several women from the TWP, a Poetry club in Stockton-On-Tees, have been working on this project for over a year now. Starting as a simple idea to showcase the strong, hard-working, talented and creative people of Teesside, both books grew into what they are today- a stunning collection of poetry, photography, stories, thoughts and testimonies from Teesside community members.

The launch was a great success and gave some of the poets a chance to read their work, sharing their powerful pieces to the people in attendance, including the funders of this project.

“We were really pleased to see some of our funders at our launch event. Without this funding, we would not have been able to showcase the skills and attributes within our community, and I am glad we were able to do that- massive thanks to Community Durham Community Foundation and Thirteen Group.”

– Tracey Herrington, Thrive Manager.

The launch also served as a triumphant celebration for the team involved, who have spent their last year working hard on this project as well as many other endeavours across the year for Thrive Teesside,

“To finally see everything put together was fantastic and to celebrate all of the hard work that we’ve put into this over the last year has been phenomenal, I am so proud of our team”Corrina Eastwood
